Why Mind Tech Lab Wave

Fabric First
Every piece starts with the textile. We source Italian Lycra and Japanese silk-blend jersey. Nothing synthetic that pills after three washes.
One Size, One Fit
We grade each pattern individually per size. Not scaled up or down from a single block. The fit at a 34B is as considered as the fit at a 38D.
Limited Runs Only
Each colourway is produced in a run of 60 units. When it sells out, it does not come back. We do not restock to chase demand.

How to Care for Italian Lycra Swimwear

Italian Lycra, specifically the Eurojersey Sensitive Fabric we use at Mind Tech Lab Wave, is more durable than most swimwear fabrics on the market. It is also more responsive to how you treat it. The difference between a piece that looks new after 30 wears and one that has gone slack and faded is almost entirely in the aftercare.

French Calais Lace: What Actually Makes It Different

Calais lace is not a marketing term. It is a specific textile produced on Leavers looms in the town of Calais in northern France, using a construction method that has not fundamentally changed since the early nineteenth century. We have used it at Mind Tech Lab Wave since our first collection in 2019, and the reason is straightforward: nothing else behaves the same way against skin.

How to Find Your Lingerie Size When Shopping in Japan

Japanese lingerie sizing uses a different convention from European or US sizing, and the difference is significant enough to cause problems if you are not aware of it. At Mind Tech Lab Wave, we size our pieces using our own grading system rather than standard Japanese cup sizing, but understanding the broader context helps when you are comparing across brands.

Saya Mizushima
Founder, Established since 2019

Saya Mizushima

Saya Mizushima trained as a pattern cutter at Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo, graduating in 2013. She spent the next six years at a mid-market lingerie label in Osaka, where she became lead pattern cutter by 2016. In 2019 she walked away from a stable salary and a promotion offer to open Mind Tech Lab Wave in Kyoto with her own savings and no outside funding. She visited the Calais lace mill herself before placing a single order. She still cuts every pattern by hand. She runs twice a week along the Kamo River and believes that how a garment moves when you walk is more important than how it photographs.
